About Us

Beginning

In the 1960's, ELC first formed in South Korea. About 150 people attended the very first Bible conference on a farm about an hour's drive from the city of Daegu.

In the 1970's an overseas organization called The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) responded positively to our work and allowed us to use their broadcasting station for spreading the gospel.

At this time, we were called the Korean Layman's Evangelical Fellowship. By the late 1970's ELC took root in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and over the years grew throughout other countries around the world.

It was June in 2004 that the Evangelical Baptist Church of Korea made its first Bible Conference at Pearl Manila Hotel in Manila.

A number of people were saved, and succeeding Bible Conferences were held and more people have also been saved.

Now, more than ever, we are bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Philippines, establishing church congregations in Davao, Pagadian, Cagayan de Oro, Tabuk, Tuguegarao, Pangasinan, La Union, Baguio, Iloilo, Dumaguete, Bicol, Tarlac, Cavite, Laguna, Taytay, and Metro Manila as our church base located in San Juan.

Our doctrine consists only of what is recorded in the Old and New Testaments. We do not make any personal interpretations based on man's wisdom and learning.

The way of salvation is clearly set out in the Bible, and it is, therefore, not necessary to invent any additional articles of faith. Our faith is the same as that of all the saints in history who have lived their lives according to the biblical teachings.

We believe in:

The Bible
The Holy Spirit
The Church
The Millenium

The Holy Trinity
Man and Sin
Sacraments
Hell

Jesus Christ
Salvation
The Resurrection and Rapture
The Kingdom of God
